Aaron LarkinJones

Aaron joins us as an intern from the London Interdisciplinary School, where he is studying complex social and environmental challenges through an interdisciplinary approach.

After exploring a range of different courses and jobs, from theatre technology and television production to customer service, Aaron found his home at LIS, where his studies have centred on the relationship between people and the natural environment. He is particularly interested in how the way we design systems, places and technology shapes both human wellbeing and the world around us.

During his time at Care City, Aaron is supporting our work to explore emerging ideas and evidence around care technology, helping us develop new thinking on how technology can support better health and care in the future.

Outside work, Aaron is happiest exploring London’s parks with the iNaturalist app, identifying everything from plants to insects and birds. He has a particular interest in ecology, maps and stationery, enjoys reading science fiction (currently working his way through Ursula K. Le Guin’s Hainish Cycle), and has previously kept an eclectic collection of pets including pigs, ferrets, Indian runner ducks and turkeys.

His long-term ambition? A really good armchair. A footstool, if everything goes exceptionally well.
